Deposit, Cancellation Policies & General Information



Reservation & Deposit Policies

A deposit is required to confirm your reservation.  The deposit amount is calculated at 25% of the base rate before tax.  A credit card is required for each booking, we do not accept cheques.  Deposit is processed on a credit card (Visa or Mastercard only) at the time of booking.

The Balance must be paid at registration, when you arrive.  Without a deposit, your reservation cannot be guaranteed.

No shows will be charged the full amount of the reservation.



Cancellation Polices (Fee Calculation)

Last minute cancellations greatly affect us and our ability to rent our Cottages/Suites/Overnight rooms.

Overnight Rooms

Cancellation more than 7 days prior to arrival date, deposit will be returned minus a $25 administration fee.

Cancellation 7 days and less before arrival date, no deposit will be returned.

Kitchen Suites/Cottages

Cancellation more than 30 days prior to arrival date, deposit will be returned minus a $25 administration fee.

Cancellation 30 days and less before arrival date, no deposit will be returned.

In all cases, the date of receipt of your cancellation request will be used in calculating the refund. Securing your reservation with a credit card means you accept the terms of our Cancellation Policy.



Decreased Length of Stay

Overnight Rooms/Kitchen Suites/Cottages

Decreased length of stay more than 30 days prior to arrival, a fee of $25.00 will be charged.  

Decreased length of stay 30 days or less before your arrival, a fee equivalent to 50% of cancelled overnights will be due.

Decreased duration of your stay at or after your arrival, the total amount of the reservation is due and there will be no refund.

Your request must be received by mail or by email at the addresses listed below.

In all cases, the date of receipt of your cancellation request will be used in calculating the refund.  

Subject to availability if you can move your stay for the same length of time, during the same calendar year, your deposit will be kept on file.




Arrival & Departure

Arrivals and check in is between 3:00pm and 8:00pm.  If you plan to check in later than 8:00pm, arrangements must be made prior.

Early check-in cannot be guaranteed. Please contact us to inquire about early check-in or late check-out, prior approval is required.

Minimum check in age is 19.

The balance of your stay is to be paid at check in time.  You have to report all persons (children included) who will stay in the cottage.  Fees related to each non reported additional person will be charged.  

Departure must be before 10:00am.  Any late departure will be charged one more night.  If you leave before the office is open, please put your key in the key return outside of the office or leave it on the table in your unit. Any loss of key will be charged $10.00.  

Your cottage must be in good condition when you leave.

Please note that a reservation is a firm contract and no allowance will be made for late/early arrivals unless approved prior.



Cleaning, Breakage, Damage

The unit you rent is clean and in good condition, it is your responsibility to leave it in the same condition at the end of your stay.  All losses, damage or breakage will automatically be charged on the credit card used for booking.  



Upgraded High Speed Internet

The WIFI connection is free.  In order for all of our guests to have a good connection, we reserve the right to prevent some devices from accessing the internet connection.  

The access code is available at the Office; for security reasons, this code is changed once per week.



Briar Woof

Not all of our Suites, Rooms and Cottages are designated dog friendly, dogs are welcome; however, they must be reported before your arrival and ensure you have reserved a dog friendly unit.

All dogs will incur a $25.00 per day surcharge with a discounted rate of $150.00 per 7 day stay.

All dogs must have an up-to-date rabies vaccination and be in good health.

All dogs must be house trained and non-aggressive.  We love all dogs and thus do not deny any particular breed.

For visitors, dogs are allowed outside only and must be on a leash.

For the comfort of all guests and children playing on the property, please pick up after your dog.

Please be aware that any damage caused by your dog will automatically be charged on the credit card used for booking.



Smoking

All Units without exception are non-smoking

We ask smokers not to throw their cigarettes on the ground to meet the cleanliness of the property.  Any smoking within any buildings on the property will result in immediate expulsion of the residents of the cottage without any compensation or refund.  Any smoke related cleaning expense will be charged on the credit card used for the booking.

Fees & Penalties

All fees and penalties due after your stay will automatically be debited from the credit card used for the reservation.  You will receive a complete statement by mail or by email with the total amount.

Privacy Policy Statement

We will always treat personal information in a professional and confidential manner and be consistent with our Privacy Policy under which it was collected unless we have your consent to treat it differently.

This Privacy Policy applies to any personal information we collect or receive about you, from any source, including through our website and other online platforms.  By providing us with any personal information or using any of the on-line platforms, we promise to never share, disclose or sell your personal information.  


Covid-19 Policies



Our top priority remains the health and safety of our employees and guests, and we also have a responsibility to support our communities, those who are vulnerable, and the healthcare providers who are on the front lines of this pandemic. 

Guests are reminded to follow all public health recommendations. Anyone travelling to Prince Edward Island must strictly follow all health and travel approval guidelines and restrictions.

 

  • Closely monitor for symptoms 

  • Stay home when not feeling well

  • Wear a mask or face covering when in public places 

  • Limit your contacts

  • Wash hands regularly

  • Physical distance when possible
     

Anyone experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, please call your family physician or nurse practitioner. If you do not have a family physician or nurse practitioner or are unable to reach them, call 8-1-1.  If necessary, you will be directed to self isolate and a clinic for testing.




COVID Cancellation Policy


If you are unable to travel to PEI due to Covid-19 or the Island is in a full shutdown, we will fully refund your deposit.  See below requirements: 

 

To help you book your stay with peace of mind, Briarwood Coastal Cottages & Lodge is offering:

  • Overnight Rooms - a 24-hour cancellation policy. This means your deposit will be refundable, provided your reservation is canceled 24 hours in advance of arrival.

  • Kitchen Suites & Cottages – a 7-day cancellation policy. This means your deposit will be refundable, provided your reservation is canceled 7-days in advance of arrival.
